What to tell the operator
- Your name and callback number.
- The exact location, road, pass, village, hotel or nearest landmark.
- What happened and how many people need help.
- Whether anyone is unconscious, bleeding, unable to breathe or trapped.
- Any hazards nearby, including traffic, fire, water, unstable slopes or severe weather.
High-altitude warning
Severe headache, confusion, inability to walk normally, breathlessness at rest, blue lips, fainting or rapidly worsening symptoms can be life-threatening at altitude. Call for medical help, avoid going higher and seek urgent descent and professional care.
